beehiiv renamed and repriced its three paid tiers on Oct 1, 2026 — Scale became Lite, Max became Pro, and Pro's subscriber ceiling rose from 100,000 to 250,000 — while Kit is running a 25% discount on its Pro annual plan through Nov 7, 2026. The other 23 tools we checked since Sept 29, 2026 show no confirmed price or tier change.

beehiiv
beehiiv renamed its paid plans and raised their self-serve starting prices, effective for new customers on Oct 1, 2026 (existing customers change at their first renewal on or after Nov 1, 2026), according to beehiiv's own pricing page and its official announcement post.

The starting prices above are beehiiv's lowest listed rate per plan (small-list pricing), read directly from the official pricing page on Oct 8, 2026. beehiiv's full price grid scales with subscriber count on a JavaScript slider we could not extract automatically; several independent pricing trackers report steeper jumps at higher subscriber counts (for example, around $109 to $139/month for Lite and $219 to $239/month for Pro at the 10,000-subscriber mark), but ToolPulse could not verify those specific figures on beehiiv's own site and does not present them as confirmed. What is confirmed directly from beehiiv: the plan renaming, the Pro subscriber ceiling moving from 100,000 to 250,000, and new inclusions at the Free tier (community features) and Pro tier (more team seats and publications).
Kit
Kit's regular Pro price is unchanged ($66/month billed annually, $790/year, for up to 1,000 subscribers), but Kit's own pricing page, read Oct 8, 2026, shows a time-limited offer: 25% off the first year of Pro Annual, bringing the effective price to $593 for the first year (about $50/month), running through Nov 7, 2026. After the first year, Pro renews at the standard rate. This is a promotion, not a permanent price change.
Who is affected / what to do
- Newsletters on beehiiv's Lite or Pro plan: expect the new price at your next renewal on or after Nov 1, 2026, not immediately. If you are close to beehiiv's old 100,000-subscriber Pro ceiling, the new 250,000 limit means you can grow further before a sales conversation is required.
- Anyone comparing beehiiv against Kit or Substack right now: the gap between beehiiv's and Kit's pricing widened slightly for larger lists; re-run the math from our comparison post above with these new numbers before switching.
- Anyone about to sign up for Kit Pro: the 25% first-year discount is real but temporary (ends Nov 7, 2026) and only applies to the annual plan.
One item to watch
OpenAI added a $500/month "Pro 500" ChatGPT plan at its Sept 29, 2026 DevDay — the same day as our baseline — alongside a quota cut for the existing $200 Pro plan (compute allowance down from 20x to 10x of Plus, weekly Pro chat messages on its top model down from 200 to 100). We flag this because it directly affects ChatGPT Plus's position in our watchlist, but we could not confirm it from OpenAI's own pricing or help pages, which continue to block automated retrieval as of Oct 8, 2026; it is confirmed here only by multiple independent tech outlets (see sources). We are treating it as unverified for now and will keep trying to reach an official OpenAI source before reporting exact numbers.

Of those 25, 23 show no confirmed price, tier or limit change since Sept 29, 2026: Notion, ClickUp, Craft, Zapier, Make, n8n, Fathom, Otter.ai, Granola, Fireflies.ai, tl;dv, Grammarly, Jasper, Copy.ai, Mailchimp, Ghost, Descript, Loom, ElevenLabs, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Replit and Substack.
What we could not verify
5 of 30 tools remain unverifiable from official sources as of Oct 8, 2026: Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda) — pricing page still renders only in JavaScript with no numbers in the retrieved content; Perplexity, ChatGPT Plus, Canva and Midjourney — official pricing pages continue to return "403 Forbidden" to automated retrieval. We do not publish numbers for these until we can trace them to an official source.
